Everything you need to know about drone content, website design, SEO, packages, and how FPV Lens works.
Drone & FPV Content
What is FPV videography and how is it different from standard drone video?
FPV (First Person View) videography uses a small, agile drone flown in real time through interiors, exteriors, and tight spaces — capturing a single, continuous cinematic take with no cuts. Unlike standard drone footage shot from altitude, FPV creates an immersive, flowing perspective that moves through a space as if the viewer is flying. FPV Lens specialises in single-take FPV walkthroughs for property marketing, brand films, and social reels.
Do I need planning permission or special permits for a drone shoot?
No planning permission is required for drone photography or videography in the UK. However, all commercial drone operations must be conducted by a CAA-authorised operator. FPV Lens holds full CAA authorisation and public liability insurance to £5 million. We handle all pre-flight planning, airspace checks, and NOTAM filings — you do not need to arrange anything on the regulatory side.
Are you CAA licensed and insured?
Yes. FPV Lens is a CAA-authorised commercial drone operator. All flights are conducted under our operational authorisation and we carry public liability insurance to £5 million. Copies of our authorisation and insurance certificates are available on request for any project.
Where do you operate? Do you travel outside London?
Our studio is based in London, and we operate across the United Kingdom. We have shot projects in London, Surrey, Manchester, the Cotswolds, and across England, Scotland, and Wales. Travel costs for locations outside London are included in the project quote.
What formats do you deliver drone footage and photos in?
Drone photography is delivered as high-resolution RAW files and edited masters in both print-ready (TIFF/JPEG) and social-ready (optimised JPEG/PNG) formats. Video is delivered in the format agreed at brief — typically ProRes 422 or H.264/H.265 at 4K or higher, with social-format cuts (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) included as standard on Ascend and Apex packages.
How long does a drone shoot take?
A standard aerial photography session is 1–2 hours on location. An FPV walkthrough shoot typically requires half a day including setup, rehearsal, and capture. Complex multi-location or multi-day shoots are scoped individually. All timelines are confirmed at brief.
Website Design
What is included in a website design project?
Every FPV Lens website is custom-designed from scratch — no templates, no page builders. Our projects include design, development, mobile optimisation, basic on-page SEO, analytics setup, and a 90+ PageSpeed score as standard. Specific inclusions depend on your chosen package — see our Packages page for a full breakdown.
What technology stack do you build on?
We build on the stack that best fits the project. For most business sites we use Next.js with Tailwind CSS deployed on Vercel. For e-commerce we work with Shopify or WooCommerce. For content-heavy sites we use Webflow or a headless CMS. We do not use Wix, Squarespace, or generic WordPress themes.
How long does a website project take?
Standard business websites (5–10 pages) are delivered within 3 weeks from the signed brief. Larger projects, e-commerce builds, and custom platforms are scoped with individual timelines agreed at kick-off. We have delivered complex websites in as little as two weeks when required.
Do you provide ongoing website maintenance?
Yes. Ongoing maintenance, content updates, and hosting management are included in our Ascend and Apex monthly packages. We can also arrange standalone maintenance retainers for websites we have built — ask us at point of enquiry.
SEO Optimisation
What is included in your SEO service?
Our SEO service covers: a full site audit with a prioritised action list, keyword research and strategy, on-page optimisation (titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links, structured data), Google Business Profile setup and optimisation, local citation building, and monthly ranking and traffic reports. Content creation and backlink building are included in Ascend and Apex packages.
How long does it take to see SEO results?
SEO is a compounding strategy — most clients see measurable ranking improvements within 8–12 weeks and significant traffic growth within 4–6 months. Our case study with The Cotswolds Hotel went from page 4 to position 1 in 6 months, with a 340% increase in organic traffic. Results depend on your starting point, competition, and the scope of work.
Do you offer local SEO?
Yes. Local SEO — including Google Business Profile optimisation, local citation building, and map pack rankings — is a core part of our SEO offering. We have particular experience with hospitality, real estate, and professional services businesses targeting specific UK cities or regions.
Do you write content as part of SEO?
Content creation is included in our Ascend and Apex packages. This covers blog articles, service page rewrites, and location-specific landing pages — all written to rank, not just to fill space. All content is factual, brand-aligned, and reviewed before publication.
Packages & Pricing
How does pricing work? Do you publish prices?
We do not publish fixed prices because every project is different — location, scope, duration, and deliverables all affect the cost. We operate on a get-a-quote model: tell us about your business and what you need, and we will come back within 24 hours with a clear, itemised quote. There are no hidden costs — the price we quote is the price you pay.
What are the three packages?
Hover is our entry-level package for businesses getting started — one drone shoot, a 5-page website, and basic SEO setup. Ascend is our most popular package — two shoots per month, a 10-page custom website, ongoing SEO, and social content. Apex is the full-service tier — up to four shoots per month, a premium website with animations, a full SEO strategy, and a dedicated account manager.
Can I mix services from different packages?
Yes. Our packages are a starting point, not a constraint. If you need drone content without a website, or SEO without a new site, we can scope a standalone engagement. Get in touch and we will build a quote around exactly what you need.
How quickly can I get a quote?
We respond to all enquiries within 24 hours with a recommendation and a tailored quote. For urgent projects, use the contact form and mark it as urgent — we will turn around a same-day response.
Working with FPV Lens
What is your process from brief to delivery?
Eight steps: Brief (30-min discovery call), Strategy (content, site, and SEO plan in one document), Recce (site visit or photo walkthrough), Produce (shoot, film, grade, and edit in-house), Design (website built from scratch), Optimise (SEO foundations before publish), Launch (live in under three weeks), Grow (monthly content and compounding rankings ongoing).
Why use one agency for all three services?
Drone content on a new website with SEO support will consistently outperform any one of them in isolation. When the same team runs the shoot, builds the site, and manages the SEO, the content is shot for the web, the web is built for the content, and the SEO is planned around both. There is no handover gap, no brief-in-translation, and no pointing fingers when something does not land.
Do you work with businesses outside London?
Yes. We work with businesses across the UK. Our pilots are based in London and travel to any UK location. Our web and SEO team works remotely with clients nationwide. Travel costs are included in project quotes.
